A new look for Midnight City

The Noir Cut is a major Midnight Files update. Optional Noir Mode brings a monochrome style inspired by classic detective cinema. Switch it on or off in the settings.

Investigations built around evidence

You no longer need to predict the next crime location. The focus is on solving the current case and identifying the culprit. Return to crime scenes to check a missed lead. Cases one and three have been rebuilt, while cases two and four have received improvements.

Camera, notebook and quality of life

The camera gives clearer feedback when an important object is framed correctly. Review photographs in your notebook while still at the scene, with fixes for overexposed images. The update adds key binding support, music and music volume control. It removes the investigation timer and difficulty system and improves database entries, translations, tutorials and prompts.

A note about saved games

Changes to case files, evidence and investigation systems can leave older saves with outdated progress. I recommend starting a new game after updating. Thank you for the feedback that helped shape The Noir Cut.
